Written Outline

My footage will mainly consist of close ups, long shots and mid shots and follow a diy house style which is highly conventional to the Indie Rock genre. I also wish to include footage with a ‘home video’ style which is extremely conventional to the indie / alternative rock genre as it creates a ‘DIY’ aesthetic. The song I am using for my music video is ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ by Foster the People.
By analysing and researching into similar products I have found that this style of video is very conventional as often home footage is used due to lack of funding. However, unlike most performance based videos conventionally seen in the indie/ alternative rock genre my video will be a fun and young based video which allows me to make a more aesthetically pleasing product. The use of young actors and un- focused shots is also highly conventional to similar products as it creates a familiar distressed and cool house style often seen in indie/alternative rock videos. I also intend to use elements of narrative to match the lyrics with the concepts in the video.
I found from my audience research that many of my target audience find a narrative based video appealing and said that it gives the song a deeper meaning and helps evoke emotion from the viewer.
